The Regulation on Civil Uniforms

On March 11, 1834, Russian Emperor Nicholas I approves the ". His personal chancellery prepares this document.

On the same day, Nicholas I approves the "Description of Ladies' Dresses for Arrival at the Imperial Court on Festive Days". This is how one of the first official dress codes appears in Russian society.

According to the regulation, each department gets 10 types of uniform. The color is dark green or dark blue. Senators wear red. Now by the color of the collar, cuffs and piping, and by the pattern of gold or silver embroidery, people can identify the official's ministry.
